Mr. Ekow Attom Prah is the Head of Administration/ Senior Assistant Registrar at the University of Cape Coast Library System (Sam Jonah Library). He served as the Founding Senior Assistant Registrar at the Centre for Coastal Management and as the Project Administrator for the World Bank-funded Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (ACECoR) Project (2019 - 2025) at the University of Cape Coast. He joined the University of Cape Coast’s administrative system in 2007 as a Senior Administrative Assistant and has worked as an Administrator for the past 19 years and 10 years as a Professional Administrator. His administrative duty tours within the University include the School of Physical Sciences (Dean’s Office), Department of Science and Mathematics Education, Centre for Teaching Support (Founding Administrator), Office of the Dean of Students, and School of Physical Sciences.
He is also the Secretary to the College of Professors at the University of Cape Coast. He is the Coordinator for International Institutional Accreditation for the University of Cape Coast with "The Accreditation Agency for Study Programmes in Engineering, Informatics, Natural Sciences and Mathematics (ASIIN)", Germany - based on which the University of Cape Coast has obtained international institutional accreditation with ASIIN from 2023 up to 2030.
His specialty areas are Project Administration, Strategic Human Resource Management, and International Studies. His academic interests are International Relations, Project Management, Human Resource Development, Strategic Management, Compensation and Performance Management, Job Stress, Employee Productivity, and Administrative Filing Systems. He has published two (2) books, namely, Grant Project Management Manual (2024); and Basic Administrative Filing System Manual (2020).
He is a member of the following: the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA), the Human Resource in Higher Education Community (Association of Commonwealth Universities), and the International Association of Student Affairs and Services (IASAS). He has a passion for Project Management and Business Administration, Surfing the Internet for Research, Reading, and listening to music.
Mr. Prah obtained his Bachelor of Management Studies degree from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana in 2006. He also obtained his Master of Commerce in Human Resource Management degree from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana in 2014. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Administrators and Management Consultants-Ghana. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in International Studies at the University of Cape Coast. He has also completed a Professional programme in Human Resources Management at the Galilee International Management Institute, Israel. He has obtained a Professional Certification in Project Planning, Scheduling, and Cost Estimating Skills at Mercury Training and Consulting in Casablanca, Morocco. He has attended several conferences, seminars, and training workshops, both in and out of the country. He is a member of the Secular Franciscan Order (OFS), a worldwide organisation within the Catholic Church.
