 Mrs. Joana Akinola (nee Essuman) is a dedicated and accomplished administrative professional whose career exemplifies commitment, growth, and adaptability. Since joining the University of Cape Coast in September 2001 as a Clerk Grade II, Joana has consistently advanced through the ranks, contributing her expertise across various key departments. Her journey includes valuable roles in the Electricity Section, the Laser and Fibre Optics Centre (LAFOC), and the Institute of Education. Currently, she serves as the Junior Assistant Registrar at the Centre for Teacher Professional Development (CTPD). 

 Joana’s academic credentials are impressive and reflect her passion for higher education and administration. She holds a Diploma in Management Studies, Bachelor’s degree in Management Studies, a Post Graduate Diploma in Education, Master of Education in Administration in Higher Education, and a Master of Philosophy in Administration in Higher Education, all from the University of Cape Coast. Her extensive knowledge and experience cover higher education administration, student completion rates, and examination data processing—demonstrating her unwavering dedication to educational excellence. 

 In her role as the Lead Data Entry Officer for Teacher Licensure Examinations since 2018, Joana has earned a reputation for her meticulous attention to detail and exceptional professional abilities. Additionally, she is an active member of the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA), further establishing her presence within the academic administration community. 

 Joana’s professional persona is driven by her strengths in Responsibility, Adaptability, Restorative Problem Solving, Learning, and Arranging—qualities that have shaped her success. These talents reflect her proactive approach, combined with a strong ability to adapt and solve complex challenges within the academic environment. 

Outside of her professional accomplishments, Joana is a devoted wife and mother of five children. She values family relationships and finds joy in music, as well as spending quality time with children and the elderly to learn from their experiences. Guided by a life philosophy focused on making deliberate, strategic choices, Joana seeks to create lasting opportunities for herself, her family, and those around her. 

 At present, Joana serves as the Vice President of the UCC Alumni Association.
