Mr. Mohammed Najimudeen Abdulai is currently a Senior Assistant Registrar, and Head of the Students Records Section (SRS) of the Directorate of Academic Affairs (DAA), having previously been the Head of the Health Informatics & Research Unit (HIRU) and a Preceptor for Health Information Management students at the Directorate of University Health Services (DUHS) of the University of Cape Coast (UCC). He is a highly motivated University Administrator who is eager to learn new things, having obtained a certificate of charter as a Chartered Professional Administrator, and a Master of Business Administration in Management Information Systems from the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS). He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Administrators and Management Consultants (CIAMC) Ghana, and the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA).
Mr. Abdulai has over a decade of experience in University Administration. He has over the years been involved with supervising and managing administrative and technical staff on general administration, implementing Information Systems (IS), student records management, health records management, health Insurance management, and related administrative and technical responsibilities. He has been involved in the development and implementation of organistaional policies and frameworks/plans, research, institutional accreditation, coordination of the functions of University School/Faculty/Departmental Registration and Examination Officers, provision of secretarial services to university statutory and ad hoc committees, and provision of general student support services on academic and health matters. He was very instrumental in the adoption of the first-ever paperless systems at the DUHS, and further introduced SMS solutions to support staff medical screenings on their birthdays, as a complement to a staff wellness programme dubbed Prevention is Better than Cure (PBC). He further coordinated the implementation of a Patient Educational and Engagement Documentary (PEED) video programme to support patient services at the DUHS.
Mr. Abdulai is a CV Raman International Research Fellow, and a research reviewer for the Journal of Systems and Information Technology and the Directorate of Research, Innovation, and Consultancy (DRIC) of UCC. He has over ten (10) research publications and papers as an Administrator, which encompasses information systems, records management, and public health. His research interests and expertise include; Administration, Records Management, Health Information Systems (HIS), Health Informatics, Information and Communication Technology, and Public Health. He contributes to the conduct of surveys and facilitates research data requests and related quality assurance activities at the University.
Mr. Abdulai is generally result-oriented, with good experience and knowledge in statistical methods and quantitative techniques. He possesses excellent human relations and customer service skills and is very adaptable to multicultural settings. He has a special interest in football or soccer and is always involved in organisational sports and recreational activities. Mr. Abdulai speaks English, Arabic, Dagbani, Hausa, Twi, and Fante, and engages in football activities (Real Madridista) on social media as a hobby.
