Dr. Richard Delali Agbeko Djochie is a distinguished pharmacist, educator, and researcher with extensive expertise in clinical pharmacy, healthcare administration, and pharmacy education. He obtained a Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) in 2005, an MSc in Clinical Pharmacy in 2016, and a PhD in Clinical Pharmacy in 2023, all from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Additionally, he earned an Executive Professional Certificate in Health Systems Management, Leadership, and Governance from Pentecost University in 2019.
Dr. Richard Delali Agbeko Djochie began his professional journey with the Ghana Health Service (GHS), where he dedicated 16 years of exemplary service. During this period, he progressed through various roles, starting as a pharmacist and rising to Pharmacy Manager at Nkenkaasu Government Hospital and Bekwai Municipal Hospital. His exceptional leadership and commitment to healthcare delivery earned him the rank of Deputy Director of Pharmaceutical Services. These experiences provided him with extensive expertise in clinical pharmacy practice, healthcare administration, and health systems strengthening, which he now brings to his academic career.
Currently a Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacotherapeutics and Pharmacy Practice, School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dr. Djochie combines his academic achievements with practical expertise to enhance pharmaceutical education and healthcare delivery. His research interests include rational medicine use, patient safety, pharmacoeconomics, health systems strengthening, and cost-effective interventions for healthcare delivery, with a focus on resource-limited settings.
Dr. Djochie’s dedication extends to training the next generation of pharmacists and healthcare professionals. He has developed and delivered comprehensive courses in clinical pharmacy, clinical pharmacology, and healthcare management, emphasizing the integration of evidence-based practice with real-world application. His work also includes impactful research on medicine integrity, prescription cost analysis, and strategies for improving healthcare systems.
