Dr Peter OSEI-WUSU ADUEMING is a Senior Lecturer of Physics and a researcher with the Laser and Fibre Optics Centre (LAFOC) of the University of Cape Coast. With some training in Optical Spectroscopy, Image processing and Analysis as well as Optics and Photonics, Dr. OSEI-WUSU ADUEMING has research experience in Biophysics and Biomedical Optics with keen interest in using optical spectroscopic techniques for research in fields such as Ocular, Ophthalmic and Vision Science, Biomedical as well as Food Science.

Dr OSEI-WUSU ADUEMING obtained his BSc, M.phil and P.hD degrees all in Physics from the University of Cape Coast. Peter’s P.hd focused on the use of selected Optical spectroscopic techniques to characterize cataractous lenses of Sprague Dawley rats. Peter has a number of Scopus indexed publications in areas such as ocular, vision science, herbal plants/medicine, food science, malarial diagnosis and optical devices to his credit with some of them featuring in OPTICA, Springer and Hindawi journals. Dr OSEI-WUS ADUEMING has undergone some professional training abroad including a two (2) months training at the laser center of Vrije University, Amsterdam, Netherland and at the Abdus Salam Centre for Theritical Physics. (ICTP).

Peter has attended several local, national and international conferences and workshops of which he presented orally and/or research posters in some of them. In 2022, Dr. OSEI-WUSU ADUEMING was awarded the ICO-OPTICA-SPIE Best Contributed talk during the ICTP College on Optics: Theory and Application of Lidar (smr 3706) organized by ICTP. Currently, Peter is serving as the Honorary branch Secretary for the Cape Coast branch of the Ghana science Association and the Coordinator for Graduate Studies Research Seminar and Field Trips at the Department of Physics. Peter is affiliated to many local, national and international bodies including OPTICA, SPIE, African Spectral Imaging Network (AFSIN), and the Ghana Science Association (GSA) Peter has also served on some committees within the University of Cape Coast including the Technical Committee for Robotics and Intelligence System programme for the school of sustainable Engineering. He has also served as the PI and /or Co-Investigator for some DRIC projects at the University of Cape Coast. He teaches undergraduates courses and also supervises undergraduate projects.
