SUMMARY
Dr Jerry Opoku-Ansah is a Senior Lecturer of Physics with research experience in biomedical optics, in particular, optical spectroscopic techniques in biological and medical applications. Dr Opoku-Ansah’s research interests cover multidisciplinary areas, a reflection of his diverse professional training in applied spectroscopy, biomedical optics and imaging science applications in the areas of biology and medicine. Dr Opoku-Ansah obtained his BSc, MPhil and PhD degrees from the University of Cape Coast. His professional development includes publications in malaria diagnosis and treatment, optical devices, algorithms development, eye cataract, herbal plants/drugs and beverage. Dr Opoku-Ansah has taken many other professional training abroad including the Vrije University, Amsterdam, Netherlands Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Trondheim, Norway and the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Trieste, Italy, and has presented his research findings at different local, national and international conferences. He is affiliated with many local and international professional associations. He shares the view of Albert Einstein that "Real Education = Brilliance + Character" and he is also motivated by the relation: Procrastination = Pressure = Force/Area. Currently serving as Deputy Coordinator of the African Spectral Imaging Network (AFSIN) and Secretary of the University Teachers Association (UTAG), University of Cape Coast Branch. Has also served as Honorary Branch Secretary for the Cape Coast Branch of the Ghana Science Association (2017-2021). Dr Opoku-Ansah enjoys listening to music, playing and watching football and reading. Married with children.
