University of Cape Coast

Prof. Martin Bosompem is  Associate Professor in the University of Cape Coast with over 14 years of experience in Agricultural Extension, Entrepreneurship, and Community Development research. He was appointed a Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension, University of Cape Coast in January 2008 and was promoted to the ranks of Senior Lecturer  and Associate Professor in April 2013 and August 2020 respectively.  He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Agricultural Extension in the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, and completed an Exchange programme in Agribusiness in the University of Guelph, Canada. He is currently the Coordinator of The Sasakawa Africa Fund for Extension Education (SAFE) Unit.

He teaches at both undergraduate and graduate levels, including the following courses: Project Design, Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation for agricultural and NGOs programmes, Planning extension and community development programmes. Research Methods and Statistics; Entrepreneurship; Gender, Youth and Leadership issues in Extension; Agribusiness Management; ICT and Agriculture; Management of Extension Organisations. 

His research interest includes ICT and Agriculture, Precision Agriculture Adoption and Education, Climate Change and Sustainable Agricultural Development, Livelihood security and Cocoa innovations for sustainable Development, Micro‐Financing for Agribusiness and Gender and Youth issues in Entrepreneurship and Agriculture. He is Competent in the use of the following computer Programmes for Data analysis and report writing: SPSS, SAS, Minitab, STATA, MPLUS and Microsoft word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Publisher
