I hold a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Endogenous Development. I am an Associate Professor at the Department of Population and Health where I teach and supervise project works and theses at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels with diverse teaching and learning skills that are student-centres, and based on the 21st Century Skills. My teaching and research interests cover areas in indigenous knowledge in population, environment and development; sexual and reproductive health and rights; HIV and AIDS studies, multi-stakeholder processes (MSPs). Presently, I am the head of the Department of Population and Health.
Over the past few years, I have provided consultancy services to institutions and organisations internationally and nationally, including the UNFPA, UNESCO, USAID, JOICEF (South Korea), Fair Trade Original (The Netherlands), Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana, WaterAid Ghana, and Centre for Indigenous Knowledge and Organisation Development (Ghana). I have produced over 20 peer-review papers and technical papers, and have presented over 30 papers at both local and international conferences and workshops. I also review for a number of journals as well as the University of Cape Coast Ethical Review Board.
In addition, I have gained an extensive leadership experience from serving on a number of positions, boards and committees in population, health and business as well: the Vice Chairperson of the National Population Council Board (2019 – 2021); the Chairperson of the Clinic Management Committee (2016 – 2021) of the Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana, Cape Coast; a member of the Curriculum Review Committee of the Ghana Statistical Service (2019 to date); a member of the NHARCON Scientific Steering Committee of the Ghana AIDS Commission; Board Chairman of Menjes Homes Ltd.
