My research and expertise focus on health systems, with specific interests on maternal, sexual and reproductive health and tuberculosis/HIV control programmes. I have considerable experience in collaborative large-scale multi-year and multi-country research covering Ghana, Kenya, Burkina Faso and Nigeria. Previously worked as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist and Associate Research Scientist at the African Population and Health Research Center, Nairobi, Kenya, between 2016 and 2018. My current research activities focus on quality of maternity care and abortion care, comprehensive sexuality education, child sexual abuse and exploitation and family planning. I have strong expertise in designing stand-alone qualitative and quantitative studies as well as mixed method studies. Presently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Population & Health, University of Cape Coast. Dr. Amo-Adjei has provided consulting services to a plethora of organizations/institutions, among whom are, WHO Geneva, United Nations Population Fund Ghana, UNICEF Ghana, Edinburgh Innovations Limited (University of Edinburgh, UK), IFC Macro, Ipas Ghana, DKT International Inc., PPAG, Family Health Division of Ghana Health Service, on a wide range of sexual and reproductive health issues. Apart from subject-matter expertise, Dr Amo-Adjei is proficient in using software for qualitative (NVivo) and quantitative (STATA) data management and analyses.
