Prof. George Amoako is a Professor in Physics and Materials Science at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. He received his BSc. (Physics) from University of Cape Coast and MSc. (Physics) Degree from the University of Stuttgart in Germany before eventually receiving his PhD (Materials Science and Engineering) from Jiangsu University, China in 2014.

He was the Head of Department for the Department of Physics between 2018 - 2023. Prof. Amoako is working on how to recycle discarded polyethylene containers and coconut fibres and shells. He has published papers on some findings in this research.

In addition to teaching and research, he has also reviewed manuscripts for some journals and is also an avid supporter for the Ghana National Men’s football team the Black Stars.
