Dr. Prince Justin Anku

About

Dr. Anku is a lecturer in the Department of Population and Health. His research interests include: Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR); Adolescents and Young People (AYP); Maternal, Neonatal, and Child Health (MNCH); Health Systems (with a focus on service integration); and Infectious Disease Management (with a focus on Tuberculosis and HIV). Dr. Anku is driven by the belief that the most meaningful discoveries often lie at the intersections of disciplines. In this regard, he actively collaborates across fields, integrating insights from multiple domains to build a more comprehensive understanding of complex problems. He had managed and successfully executed several research projects. Dr. Anku has expertise in using QSR NVivo for qualitative data analyses as well as SPSS and STATA for quantitative analyses.

As a lecturer, my teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that education is a transformative process—one that empowers individuals to think critically, act ethically, and contribute meaningfully to society. At the heart of my approach is student-centered learning. I strive to create an inclusive, stimulating environment that values curiosity, encourages dialogue, and respects diverse perspectives. My classrooms are spaces where students feel heard, challenged, and inspired. I encourage active participation, problem-solving, and reflective thinking, recognizing that learning deepens when students connect theory to practice and take ownership of their intellectual development.

Teaching philosophy
