PROFILE OF DR. (MRS.) CHRISTIANA ASIEDU
Dr. (Mrs.) Christiana Asiedu is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Cape Coast, Ghana. She currently leads the Department of Mental Health Nursing, overseeing academic and administrative activities while mentoring lecturers, staff, and students. She has participated in numerous national and international conferences as both facilitator and attendee. From Abiriw Akwapem in Ghana's Eastern Region, she is recognized for her dedication, integrity, and strong Christian values.
Education
Dr. Asiedu qualified as a Community Health Nurse (CHN) from Winneba and State Registered Nurse (SRN) from Cape Coast. She earned a diploma and bachelor's degree with first-class honours in Health Sciences Education from the University of Cape Coast, plus an MPhil in Population and Health and PhD in Maternal and Child Health Promotion from the same institution. She also holds an MPH in population, family, and adolescent health from the University of Ghana, and a Certificate in Health Administration and Management from GIMPA, Accra.
Professional Experience
With over 32 years of experience, Dr. Asiedu has worked as a nurse, public health expert, and educator. She began her career at Twifo Oil Palm Plantation Clinic in Twifo Eduabeng and later served in Ghana’s Maternal and Child Health Units in Asamankese, Winneba, and at Cape Coast Teaching Hospital. She has taught in several nursing institutions, including Pentecost University and the Community Health Nursing Training Colleges in Winneba, Essiama, and Adansi Fomena. As the pioneer of Pentecost University’s Nursing Programme, she played a key role in curriculum development and instruction. Currently, she is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Public Health Nursing at the University of Cape Coast. Her expertise spans Public Health Nursing, Maternal and Child Health, Adolescent Health, and General Nursing. She also serves the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana, consults on curriculum development, and is an active motivational speaker and leader in the Church of Pentecost, delivering talks at various professional and faith-based events locally and internationally.

Achievements
Dr. Asiedu is a distinguished researcher with 31 publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals. She has authored several books, including Principles and Practice of Community Health Nursing, Issues in Public Health Practice, Family Planning: The Legacy of a Healthy Living, Concepts of Community and Public Health, Nursing Practice and Public Health Administration, Surgery and Surgical Nursing in a Modern and Technological World, and Medical Nursing and Pathophysiology in Health and Illness. She founded the Adolescent Health Club in Ansaful, Asebu, and Pomadze, and is CEO of Chriselite Lecture Series. Her numerous awards include the Health Entrepreneurship and Achievers Award (2022), Chairman’s Honour from the Church of Pentecost (2022), and the National Nursing and Midwifery Education and Research Award (2021) from Ghana’s Ministry of Health. She was also recognized by the African Public Service Optimum Awards and The Business Executive (2023) for outstanding contributions to adult education and research. She is a Research Scholar with the International Collaboration for Community Health Nursing Research (ICCHNR), under the mentorship of Emeritus Professor Gina Awoko Higginbottom.

Dr. (Mrs.) Christiana Asiedu is married to Mr. Victor Asiedu, and they are blessed with four university-graduate children: Ing. Mrs. Christiana Mintaah Asiedu Amponsah (Civil Engineer, London), Mr. Eric Okai Asiedu (Economist and CEO, Ownership & Flodika Group, Ghana), Mr. Enoch Okai Asiedu (Prisons Officer, Ghana), and Ms. Emmanuella Florence Odi Asiedu (BSc Nurse and MPhil Nursing Student, UCC).
