Dr. Mohammed Nurudeen Alhassan is a dedicated mathematics lecturer in the Mathematics and ICT Education Department at the University of Cape Coast (UCC). With over two decades of experience in teaching mathematics, he is passionate about making the subject engaging and accessible to learners of all abilities. Dr. Alhassan considers himself a professional mathematics educator whose mission is to inspire and sustain the interest of student-teachers in learning and teaching mathematics throughout their careers.
His research interests focus on enhancing mathematics education through diverse approaches, including self-concept and motivation in learning mathematics, internet-based learning, handheld device applications, online lesson designs, visual mathematics education, and gender issues in mathematics education. He also explores innovative methodologies such as Design-Based Research Studies to improve teaching practices.
Dr. Alhassan holds a PhD in Mathematics Education (UCC, 2021), an M.Phil in Mathematics Education (UCC, 2011), a B.Ed in Mathematics (UCC, 2005), and a 3-year Post-Secondary Certificate ‘A’ in Mathematics and Craft Design and Technology (BATCO, 1998).
Driven by his goal to make mathematics enjoyable, he strives to create a transformative learning environment that motivates students to embrace mathematics confidently and effectively.
