Dr. Issah Chakurah is a lecturer in the Department of Vocational and Technical Education at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. He is a Ghanaian scholar and educator specialized in Wood Science and Technology, sustainable forestry, and the efficient utilization of non-timber forest products. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Wood Science and Technology from University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development. His research expertise encompasses the thermal modification of wood, durability enhancement, wood anatomy, timber preservation, and the sustainable utilization of underutilized timber species. Dr. Chakurah has served as a peer reviewer for several international journals and publishing outlets, including Journal of Wood Technology, Agroforestry Systems, European Journal of Forest Research, Journal of Scientific Reports, and the Journal of Energy and Natural Resources, among others. He has authored and co-authored more than 20 peer-reviewed journal articles published in reputable international journals. He is an active member of the Ghana Science Association (GSA) and the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG). He has also supervised and mentored numerous students at various levels of education. Through his teaching, research, supervision, and scholarly activities, Dr. Chakurah contributes to the advancement of efficient forest-resource utilization, sustainable materials development, and environmental sustainability in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
