Christian K. Adokoh is an Associate Professor of Chemistry (Medicinal Chemistry and Phytochemistry (Drug Discovery and Analysis) at the Department of Forensic Sciences, School of Biological Sciences, University of Cape Coast (UCC), Ghana. Christian holds BSc and Mphil (Chemistry) from University of Cape Coast, Ghana; and PhD [Chemistry (Drug Discovery)] from University of Johannesburg, South Africa. 

Prof. Adokoh is currently the Head of the Forensic Science Department, School of Biological Sciences, UCC. As Head of Department, Prof Adokoh is leading the Department to developing new post-graduate programmes: PhD/MPhil/M.Sc. (Forensic Science), MSc Forensic Psychology, Msc/MPhil Security Studies, M.Sc./MPhil/PhD Marine forensic science. He's championing the establishment of Genomic Laboratory that will ensure analysis of crime scene samples as well as modern cyber security laboratory. 

Prof. Adokoh has successfully mentored/supervised a number of PhD and MPhil candidates in the areas of Drug Discovery, Chemistry (Analytical and Environmental). Most of these Mentees are now working as Lecturers and Research Fellows at reputable Universities and Medical Research Centers. Prof Adokoh has published over 50 scientific articles in the area of analytical/environmental chemistry and drug discovery in reputable journals. His research interest has mainly been on Drug Development (Synthetic Chemistry and Natural Products) and Toxicology research targeted at Communicable and Non-Communicable Diseases. 

Prof. Adokoh has research collaboration with reputable international institutions such as Open Lab Africa, University of East Anglia (UEA), Professor Rajash Sunasee of the  State University of New York, Plattsburgh, USA etc. Prof Adokoh has won a number of research grants to support his research activities and graduate students training. As an academic, Prof. Adokoh has served and continues to serve as External Examiner for PhD and MPhil theses from sister universities and Assessor for promotion of academic senior members home and abroad. Additionally, he serves as an Editorial Board Member/Associate Editor for a number of reputable journals. 

Prof. Adokoh has served and continues to serve as member on a number of boards and committees at local (UCC), national and international levels. Notable among these committees/Boards are member, Governing Council, Institute for Security, Disaster and Emergency Studies, Kokrobite, Accra, Governing Council Board member, Kobina Ansah Senior High School, Kobina Ansah, Anomabo Traditional Area, Ghana; member, College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences Board; UCC; member, Appointment and Promotion Committee, School of Biological Sciences, UCC; member, School of Physical Science Board; member, School of Biological Sciences Board and Chair of Department of Forensic Science Board. 

He is a member of the following Professional institutions/bodies/scientific groups; Royal Society of Chemistry; Affiliate, African Students and Alumni Forum (ASAF), Member, Society of Toxicology (TOC), Associate Member, Ghana Chemical Society, Member, South Africa Chemical Institute (SACI); Member, International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC); Affiliate Member, Ghana Science Association; Member and University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG).
