Mr. Eric Awotwe holds MBA (Finance) and Bachelor of Commerce certificates from the University of Cape Coast (UCC) in 2022 and 2011, respectively. He attained a HND (Accountancy) certificate from the Cape Coast Technical University, then Cape Coast Polytechnic, in 2004. He also holds a Senior Secondary School Certificate from St. Augustine’s College, Cape Coast in 2000.
Mr. Eric Awotwe is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAGH) and the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA), UCC Branch. He has over fifteen (15) years of experience in public administration and leadership and has held many headship positions. He was appointed a Senior Member at the UCC in 2014 and has risen through the ranks from Junior Assistant Accountant, Assistant Accountant to Senior Assistant Accountant. Mr. Eric Awotwe is currently the Head of the Final Account Section of the Directorate of Finance.
Before becoming Head of the Final Account Section in January 2020, Mr. Eric Awotwe served as the Acting. College Finance Officer at the College of Agriculture & Natural Sciences for a year (Jan. to Dec. 2020), Faculty Accountant at the Faculty of Social Sciences for five (5) years from 2014 to 2019, School Accountant at the School of Business for three (3) years from 2011 to 2014 and School Account Officer at the School of Agriculture for five (5) years from 2006 to 2011. He has served and continues to serve as secretary or member on several of the University of Cape Coast’s Committees and Boards. These include the University-Wide Sandwich Committee and the Appointment and Promotion Committee (Junior Staff).
Mr. Eric Awotwe's research interests/areas of specialisation are in Higher Education Financing, Financial Reporting, Process Improvement, Project Management and Customer Satisfaction/Care. He has authored several Memos, Reports, Policy Documents and Articles.
