About

Bea is a Ghanaian physiotherapist with about 16 years of clinical, academic, and research experience in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation. Her clinical interests include musculoskeletal disorders (osteoarthritis and low back pain) and their rehabilitation; Global Health (Obesity and physical activity) and the impact of climate change on health and rehabilitation in the elderly population. Her research skills are in mixed methods research, literature reviews (systematic and scoping reviews) and Patient Public Involvement in research.

Bea is also passionate about promoting Patient and Public Involvement and evidence-based practice in Physiotherapy in lower-middle-income countries with particular interest in Ghana and Africa. She leads the EBP Research Group within the Ghana Physiotherapy Association. 

Beatrice is quite keen on advancing Rehabilitation research in Africa and works towards the capacity building of emerging rehabilitation professionals to support global efforts in advancing this agenda in and beyond Africa. She is an ardent advocate for rehabilitation and is keen on raising awareness towards the achievement of the World Health Organization's Rehabilitation 2030 agenda. 

As a social entrepreneur, Bea is the founder of Think Evidence Africa, a social enterprise with the vision to create a dynamic ecosystem to build capacity and generate home-grown evidence on rehabilitation in Africa through research funding, advocacy and capacity building.
