Ama Serwah Nerquaye-Tetteh is an accomplished educational administrator and development practitioner, currently serving as the Deputy Director-General in charge of Administration and General Services at the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA), a UNESCO Category II Centre of Excellence within the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Ghana. A strategic leader, she works to enhance the Institute's operational management and policy implementation in alignment with global educational planning objectives.
With a rich academic background, Ama Serwah is pursuing a PhD in Educational Leadership at the University of Cape Coast. She holds an M.Phil. in Education and an M.A. in Educational Leadership and Management from the University of Ghana, Legon; an M.A. in International Communications from Leeds University; a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of Bedfordshire; and an honours degree in English and French from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. She is also certified in innovation, risk, and governance.
Ama Serwah's expertise extends to shaping national educational policy. She has been a key contributor to national committees, including the SDG4 and the Transforming Education Summit Committees, and has played an instrumental role in shaping many national educational policies. As a licensed teacher and educational consultant, she is a sought-after project manager credited with consulting for schools on fundraising, partnerships and accreditation.
Her influence reaches across various governing boards, including the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, the African Institute of Mathematical Sciences (AIMS-Ghana), and the Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA) of the University of Cape Coast. She was elected as President of the 8th Global Meeting of UNESCO National Commissions and also convened the inaugural Meeting of African National Commissions of UNESCO, an event that culminated in the Accra Declaration—a blueprint for African engagement with the organization. Ama is married with three children.
