About

Yaa B. Gyasi Aderoju is a registered Nurse in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Cape Coast with an extensive background in Adult Health Nursing and Nursing Administration. Yaa began as a Clinical Instructor and currently working as an Assistant Lecturer in the same institution. Yaa, with her solid years of experience has been facilitating the medical/ surgical nursing, nursing practice and clinical nursing practice to prepare students for professional practice. She is an examiner with the Nurses and Midwives Council Ghana.

Yaa teaches from level 200 to final year. Her strong passion is to mentor Nursing students to be passionate in the profession by caring for the needs of their patients irrespective of their background. Yaa believes in treating every students equally and creating an enabling environment where she can be accessible and approachable.

Teaching & projects

My teaching approach is student centered approach, where the needs of the students are put first. I am concerned about all aspects of their lives not just academically. My students always feel comfortable to approach with any issue of concern. I have also made it a point to inculcate in my students the central core of Nursing which is caring and building a good Nurse-Patient Therapeutic Relationship. I am a firm believer of doing unto others what you expect them to do unto you. As such irrespective of who I am in contact with I ensure that above I do no harm.
