Ernest Kofi Agorde is a Junior Assistant Registrar in charge of Media Relations and Communication and Research lead at the Public Relations and Protocol Section of the University of Cape Coast and Part-Time Lecturer at the Department of Communication Studies at the same University. He has been a Principal and Senior Administrative Assistant, prior to his promotion to the current position. Ernest has over 10 years’ experience in communication and public relations practice. Ernest has also engaged in research projects for organisations such as the Graphic Communications Group and taught Critical Thinking and Practical Reasoning at the College of Distance Education, University of Cape Coast. Ernest is a trained communications, research, and media (journalism) professional, having obtained a Master of Philosophy in Communication Studies with specialisation in Public Relations, Journalism (Broadcast and Print) and Communications Research and Theories/Models among others from the University of Ghana, Legon. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and English Language obtained from the University of Cape Coast. Ernest’s areas of interest include Media/Communication Ethics and Law, Communication Theories and Models, Research Methods, New media Information and Communication Technologies, Gender and Communication, Social/Digital Media Communication, International, Development and Health Communications. His research interests are largely centred on the media representation of Africa in the West and the role of communication in development. Ernest is an Accredited Public Relations Practitioner (APR) and member of the Institute of Public Relations (IPR) Ghana, the sole professional body for Public Relations practitioners in Ghana.

When he is not practicing communications, Ernest enjoys learning new things especially on new information technologies, working on electrical gadgets (especially computers, and mobile phones), playing board games, watching news, athletics, football and movies. He is Ewe, an ardent supporter of Manchester United and a Catholic.
