Dr. Daniel Edem Adzovie is a practicing creative designer with diverse training and expertise in communications - visual communications, multimedia and design, advertising and multimodality in audio-visual artefacts and animated communication. Currently, he is a lecturer at the Department of Communication Studies of the University of Cape Coast, Ghana; where teaches courses in Newspaper Management and Programming; Magazine Management and Production; Introduction to Mass Communication; Introduction to New Media; Communication and Society; Theories of Communication; Media, Culture and Society among others. Edem has a bouquet of research interest and has demonstrated practicality in exploring these interests. He has presented a number of research findings at International conferences particularly, across Europe and has a number of publications in reputable journals to his credit. He continues to delve into youth and social media usage, Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights, complexities in meanings conveyed via several modes in dynamic audio-visual artefacts etc.
Before joining the University of Cape Coast, Edem worked in the corporate sector, particularly in graphic design studios and advertising agencies as a graphic designer, client service executive and marketing communications manager. He is open to collaboration on research projects in the following areas: marketing communications; social semiotics; multimodality in dynamic audio-visual artefacts; general media studies; health communication and any other thought-provoking, impact-driven and interesting ideas with a link to COMMUNICATIONS.
