Dr. Du-Bois Asante [BSc (Hons), MPhil, PhD]

Du-Bois Asante is a lecturer at the Departments of Biomedical & Forensic Sciences, University of Cape Coast, Ghana. He holds a Bachelor's Degree (Honours) in Human Biology from University of Cape Coast, and an MPhil in Medical Pathology (Experimental Pathology), from University of Ghana, Accra, Legon. He was awarded the Australian Higher Degree Research (HDR) Scholarship for his PhD work (2018-2022) in Australia (Edith Cowan University, WA). 

His research interests cover multidisciplinary areas, a reflection of the diverse professional training I had in the area of Biomedical Sciences in both my BSc, MPhil and PhD studies. These include, immuno-oncology, diabetes, molecular biology, histopathology, immunopathology, medical biochemistry and, therapeutic and toxic effect of medicinal plants. His research mainly focuses on; isolation and analysis of circulating tumour cells (CTCs) and DNA (ctDNA) from ovarian carcinoma patients, histopathological analysis of tissue sections from experimental models, predictive biomarkers for early detection of cancerous cells, immunohistochemical test using normal and cancerous cell lines, toxicological pathology, culturing and testing of immunological markers on cancer cell lines, antidiabetic and anticancer properties of medicinal plants.
