Professor Andrews Adjei Druye is scholar, educator,and health programme management. He holds a PhD in Nursing from the Graduate School of Nursing at the Graduate School of Nursing and Midwifery and Health, Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. He has expertise in chronic conditions management and currently researching into self-management for chronic conditions especially Sickle Cell Disease. Dr Druye is a registered nurse and a public health specialist. He is currently a senior lecturer at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Cape Coast. Dr Druye has several years’ experience in clinical care, and health programmes management. He has had special experiences in clinical nursing, health programme and project management, health education (including radio programmes), counseling for sickle cell patients and development of health learning materials. He was once the National Focal Person for the Sickle Cell Disease Control Programme and the Manager of the National Health Learning Materials Center of Ghana Health Service/Ministry of Health. Dr Druye has taught in various levels of nursing institutions including nursing training colleges and universities. He has also acted as a secretary, financial secretary, vice chairperson and president among other positions in various nursing and other health organisations. Dr. Druye has facilitated a number of training programmes as a resource person within and outside the health sector. He is also a fellow of the West Africa College of Nursing and a member of the Sigma Theta Tau (STTI). He is highly adaptable and resourceful.
