About

Rev. Prof. George Tackie is an Associate Professor and the current Head of Department at the University of Cape Coast, Department of Accounting. He is a fellow of Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG) and serves on the Technical and Research Committee of ICAG. He also holds certifications from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). He has been involved in several seminar facilitations on the application of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) on the backdrop of his training with ICAEW. Recently, he served as a panel member on the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB), African Accounting and Finance Association (AAFA) and the Public Accountants and Auditors Board of Zimbabwe (PAAB) joint workshop on the IASB's exposure draft on the International Financial Reporting Standard for Small and Medium-sized Entities. He has over 20 years’ experience in teaching and research. His research focuses on environmental accounting and international financial reporting. He is very passionate about accountancy education and training alongside human capacity development. He has a number of publications to his credit. He is also a lay reverend minister of Victory Bible Church International where he is currently serving as the Ghana Finance Director of the Church. He is married to Gloria, and they are blessed with three lovely children. He loves farming.
