Prof. Emmanuel Kusi Achampong is passionate about using Information Technology (IT) in the provision of healthcare. He wants to see health services transformed with the use of IT to improve patient outcomes. He has been researching various aspects of the use of IT in healthcare and how technology can be used to reduce patient waiting time and minimise medical errors.
Prof. Achampong is currently an Associate Professor (Health Informatics) at the Department of Medical Education and Information Technology (DMEIT), School of Medical Sciences, University of Cape Coast. He has a PhD in Information Technology and an M.Sc. in Health Informatics. He and his colleagues have won some grants for research into health informatics and health information management.
Prof. Achampong has thirty-two (32) publications in peer-reviewed journals and two published books to his credit. His research interests include electronic health records and artificial intelligence in healthcare.
