Elvis Ofori Ameyaw is a Ghanaian working at the University of Cape Coast as Professor of Pharmacology. He is the current Dean of School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, College of Health and Allied Sciences (CoHAS), UCC. He has previously been Vice-Dean of School of Allied Health Sciences, CoHAS, UCC and Head of Biomedical Sciences Department.
He obtained his Bachelor of Pharmacy degree and PhD in Pharmacology both from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi. He further proceeded to University of Georgia, Athens, USA as a Fulbright Research Scholar for his Fellowship in the area of Natural Product Drug Discovery.
He is a Pharmacist and a Fellow of the Ghana College of Pharmacists and has assisted in training several pharmacists in the country. He has developed a research niche in Central Nervous System Pharmacology.
Prof. Ameyaw has published over 90 peer-reviewed articles and is the recipient of prestigious awards/grants including the Fulbright African Research Scholar Award, Excellence in Integrative Medicine Research Award and the International Foundation for Science Fellowship among others.
