Prof. Raymond Edziah is an Associate Professor of Physics at the Department of Physics of University of Cape Coast, Ghana. He received his BSc. (Physics) degree in 1994 from University of Cape Coast. In 1999 he obtained his MPhil. (Physics) degree from the University of Cape Coast in the area of Condensed Matter Physics (theory) before proceeding to the United States of America to pursue his PhD (Physics) degree in Ultrafast Physics and Optoelectronics at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in 2010.
He is currently the Head (Chair) of the Department of Physics. His current research is of two folds: experimental and theoretical. Experimentally, he studies materials for optical limiting and switching applications. Theoretically, he explores the transport properties of low-dimensional nanostructured materials.
In addition to teaching and research, Prof. Edziah is a technical reviewer for some international scientific journals and a member of several international and national professional organizations. He currently resides in Cape Coast and could be reached by email using redziah@ucc.edu.gh or rayedziah@gmail.com.
