Dr. Mabel Anim is a Lecturer in Physical Geography at the Department of Geography and Regional Planning. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography and Economics, Master of Philosophy in Geography and Doctor of Philosophy in Geography .
Mabel is the ECOP Ghana Ocean Literacy Coordinator. She has specialty in coastal geomorphology and interested in anything that happens between the land-sea interface. Her research interest is in coastal processes, marine environment, marine debris, coastal erosion and accretion, coastal sedimentology, environmental process, natural disasters, blue economy, nature-based solution to ocean-climate change nexus, marine biodiversity conservation, climate change and geology. She participated in the co-design for Ocean Decade and co-authored the United Nations Ocean Decade for Africa. her goal to contribute to the Decade Challenges, especially Challenge Number Six: Increase community resilience to ocean hazards.
She is a member of the Pool of Experts for the World Ocean Assessment III (WOA III), a writing team member for the Regular Process.
