Dr. Joseph Tufuor Kwarteng is a senior lecturer at the Department of Business and Social Sciences Education, University of Cape Coast, Cape Coast, Ghana. He is a teacher and accountant by training. He professes sound knowledge in curriculum and instruction with a specialty in accounting discipline.
He is an accounting academic with sound professional knowledge in both teaching and accounting practice. By teaching at both tertiary and pretertiary levels since 1998, he has accumulated valuable insights and experience in leading students to succeed in learning.
His knowledge and experiences are shared beyond the classroom for other professional and business constituencies to benefit. He has organised a number of workshops on research and teaching methodology for educational researchers and teachers in several institutions in Ghana. He has been consulting for a number of private tertiary institutions of higher learning in the area of curricula development and managerial advisory services.
As part of his service to community, Dr. Kwarteng has served on several committees and boards in and outside the University of Cape Coast. For example, within the University, he was a member of the Vice-Chancellor's nine-member committee set up to restructure the College of Distance Education. Currently, he is the College of Education Representative on the University Housing Committee. He is also the University of Cape Coast Representative on the Governing Council of Baldwin University College, an affiliate institution of University of Cape Coast. His professional background as an accountant earned him the opportunity to chair the audit committee of Awutu Senya West District Assembly since 2017.
Dr. Kwarteng has worked on a number of local and international projects. His research interests include teacher education and administration, accounting education and teaching methodology.
