As an accomplished professional with a stellar reputation in university administration, human resource management, and leadership, Mr. Isaac Eliot Nyieku brings over 16 years of expertise and a commitment to excellence in higher education.

Diverse qualifications mark Mr. Nyieku’s academic journey garnered locally and internationally. He holds a Professional Executive Master in Alternative Dispute Resolution (PEMADR) from the Institute of Paralegal Training and Leadership Studies in Ghana, a Certificate of Training in Executive Mastery in Senior Professional Human Resources International from Euzeb Training Consult in Ghana, and a Diploma in Management of Higher Education Institutes from Galilee International Management Institute in Israel. Additionally, he holds a Professional Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety Management from the Institute of Commercial Management in the UK. and a Professional Certificate in Leadership from the Center for Leadership and Organisational Effectiveness, School of Management, University of Buffalo in the USA. Furthermore, he possesses a Master of Business Administration in Employee Relations from the University of Leicester in the UK, a Bachelor of Education in Social Studies from the University of Cape Coast in Ghana, and a proud product of Prempeh College, Ghana.

His professional career includes a Chartered Human Resource Management Practitioner certified by the Chartered Institute of Human Resource Management (CIHRM), Ghana, and a member of the Ghana National Association of ADR Practitioners (GNAAP). He is also a member of the following international bodies; the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI), USA, and the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) of HR in HE Community, UK.

Mr. Nyieku has held pivotal leadership and administrative positions throughout his career, currently the Deputy Registrar & College Registrar at the College of Distance Education (CoDE). He has also held roles such as Senior Assistant Registrar & Ag. College Registrar at CoDE, Head of Senior Staff Section at the Directorate of Human Resource, University of Cape Coast, Acting Director of the Directorate of Human Resource, Faculty Officer at the School of Physical Sciences, and various other administrative and teaching roles.

His notable achievements include jointly proposed non-residential marking, which saved CoDE One million Ghana Cedis annually and proposed and developed in-house software for managing re-sit examinations and the University admission system, leading to significant cost savings for CoDE. He also initiated the following; integration of Acumen software into the UCOSIS system, graduation of distance learners from the UCOSIS system for the first time, and the development of a Human Resource Management Information System for the Course tutors of the College. Again he spearheaded the introduction of postgraduate and undergraduate programmes into the College of Distance Education. Additionally, he proposed and established the Human Resource Information Unit at the Directorate of Human Resource, the development of human resource management software and staff, and the development and implementation of a staff leave module.

He has participated in and facilitated many workshops, seminars, and continuing Professional Development, and attended and presented at local and international conferences. Eliot, as affectionately called, has contributed severally to the growth and decision-making in the higher education landscape through peer-reviewed publications, memoranda, position papers, and policies and also serving on Boards or Committees as either Secretary, Member, or Chairman.

His research interests and specializations include Human Resource Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Internships, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Management Education, E-learning, and Students Support Services. His dedication to advancing these fields has earned him recognition, including prestigious awards like the Research Support Grant for Non-Teaching Senior Members and the Promising Administrator Award (Senior Member Category).

Eliot supports community services by pastoring a local Deeper Life Bible Church branch at OLA and as a Regional Coordinator for Deeper Life Aid. He enjoys reading, giving guidance, counselling, and listening to soul-inspiring music. He is married with three children.
