Daniel Quainoo is a Senior Internal Auditor, a Certified Chartered Accountant, and a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)-UK and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). He holds a Master of Business Administration from Herriot Watt Edinburg University, London. He has over 24 working years with 19 years practicing experience in audit, out of which 15 years is spent in the managerial level leadership in assurance and consultancy services.
With deep insight in internal audit and being the senior at the time, Daniel acted in the capacity of a deputy for the Director of the Directorate of Internal Audit from 2009 to 2020. He headed the Directorate’s extension at the College of Distance Education (CoDE), the College of Agriculture and Natural Science (CANS), and is currently the Head at the College of Humanities and Legal Studies (CHLS).
Daniel was the pioneer team leader who established the Quality Assurance and Follow-up Section and headed the Section. He later led a team that established the Risk Management Unit and saw the drafting and the publishing of the first risk management policy for the University.
Daniel has attended a number of international conferences and presented in workshops. Notable among the conferences attended was the 2022 World Accountant Conference held in India and 2012 IIA international conference in Boston, Massachusetts, USA and Internal Audit Agency (IAA) annual conference, Ghana. He annually presents to newly appointed Provost, Dean, Vice Deans, Heads of Department, Registrars, and Directors workshop on the overview of Internal Audit and Enterprise Risk Management.
Daniel has written a number of articles and co-written policy documents. His publications on internal audit, and includes: Internal Auditor’s Expectation Gap: Are internal auditors supposed to be jacks-of-all-trades? Will Technology Displace the Internal Audit Profession—Artificial Intelligence? Who audits the internal auditor? Nine Strategies to Ease Tension with Internal Audit and many other publications He co-authored policy documents like the Directorate of Internal Audit Strategic Plan and the Directorate of Internal Audit Charter.
Daniel is actively engaged in community service (social and religious activities). Notable among them are Hall Tutor of Oguaa Hall of the University of Cape Coast and a Board Chairman of Kobina Ansa Senior High School. He is a reputable Elder and Area Deacon of The Church of Pentecost, Cape Coast Area. As an Area Deacon, he oversees the finance and estate issues of about 353 local assemblies under 32 Districts of the Area of the Church.
