Dr. Daniel Oppong Bediako is an accomplished academic, engineer, and researcher with over 19 years of extensive experience in electrical, electronics, and multimedia systems engineering. He currently serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical, Electronics and Robotic Engineering under the School of Sustainable Engineering at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. Dr. Bediako earned his Ph.D. in Information and Communication Engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University in China, where his research focused on video quality assessment using spatiotemporal features, Gabor and LOG filters, and advanced machine learning techniques.
Prior to his academic role, he served in various technical and managerial capacities at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, contributing to national broadcasting infrastructure through system design, signal optimization, and outside broadcast coordination. With strong experience in both academia and industry, he blends practical engineering knowledge with pedagogical expertise to deliver high-impact teaching and research.
Dr. Bediako’s research interests span image and video processing, digital signal analysis, remote sensing, and intelligent systems for cyber applications. He is widely published in internationally peer-reviewed journals and remains active in research collaboration and knowledge transfer. He is also a committed member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), Ghana, and regularly engages in academic mentoring and curriculum development. Dr. Bediako is passionate about leveraging engineering innovations to drive sustainable development and technological advancement in Africa.
