Benjamin Assah serves as a Chief Accounting Assistant within the Directorate of Finance at the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Ghana. In his current capacity as the Faculty Accounts Officer for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Education (FOHSSE), he provides strategic financial advice to the Dean and Departmental Heads. He is a hard-working with experience in financial accounting, management accounting and management reporting.
Assah has been a staff of the University of Cape Coast since 2010, and he has demonstrated significant versatility in his roles. Notably, he served as the pioneer Faculty Accounts Officer for the Faculty of Science and Technology Education (FSTE) within the College of Education Studies. His tenure is marked by a commitment to integrity and confidentiality, coupled with an ability to navigate complex tasks and evolving environments with minimal supervision.
Assah holds Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Accounting and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Cape Coast,(UCC) as well as a Commonwealth Executive Master of Business Administration (CEMBA) from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST),Kumasi.
He has actively participated in workshops and conferences, including Topaz Accounting Software and Chart of Account, Directorate of Finance, Customer Care/Management Roll-out Software for the submission of expenditure returns and engaging with External Auditors, Directorate of Finance, UCC, 2025; a 3-day training on the theme ‘tax returns and financial management by the training and development section of the division of Human Resource, UCC, 2024; Communication Channels in the University by the College of Education, UCC, 2021; International Public Sector Accounting Standard (IPSAS) Training by Directorate of Finance and facilitated by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC), 2019; and a 3-day seminar on International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) by ICA Ghana and ICA England and Wales at Accra, 2019.
Beyond his primary duties at UCC, Benjamin has held several leadership positions. He served on the Board of Kobina Ansah Senior High School (2016–2018) and, until March 2025, dedicated his time as the Financial Secretary and Welfare Chairman at the Assemblies of God Campus Church (AGCC), UCC.
