Victor Yankah is an Associate Professor of Theatre in the Department of Theatre and Film at the University of Cape Coast. He obtained his education from the University of Cape Coast, The University of Sheffield and the University of Ghana. For a while, he was a lecturer in the Department of English in the University of Cape Coast, until he joined the Department of Theatre and Film Studies as its founding Head of Department. His specilised areas are Applied Theatre and Playwriting. He has conducted research in African drama, Theatre for Development and African Film. He has taught in the USA, and is an ACLS African Humanities Fellow. He has also written a number of plays, including Dear Blood, an adaptation of Sophocles’ Antigone, Sikaman and The Pretty Trees of Gakwana an ecodrama.
