Seyram Kawor is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Finance at the University of Cape Coast. He is Associate Chartered Management Accountant and Chartered Global Management Accountant. Seyram Kawor holds a PhD in Economics at the School of Economics, University of Cape Coast. His current research centres around Corporate Financial Analysis and Business Valuation, Corporate Failure Prediction, Corporate Distress Analysis, Working Capital Management Policies, Equity Market Analysis, Performance analysis of Pension Funds, Management Accounting Practices of SMEs, Financial Development, Financial Exclusion and Financial Digitization.

I believe that there are six essential elements that are conducive to learning. 

(1)  The teacher's role is to act as a guide. I motivate my students and urge them to go on even if the going gets tough. I am a role model to my students. 

(2) Students must have access to hands-on activities. I believe in the practical application of concepts learned, thus bringing reality into the lecture room. 

(3) Students should be able to have choices and let their curiosity direct their learning. I involve students in my teaching. Every student must be encouraged to participate in class discussions. They must learn to operate in groups and in teams. 

(4)   Students need the opportunity to practice skills in a safe environment. I make the lecture room fun and not boring. I make my lecture room a theatre and involve students in my teaching. 

(5)   Technology must be incorporated into the teaching and learning. The use of finance and accounting software, use of social media in teaching and use of other statistical software are all necessary in making learning great. 

(6)   Dressing is paramount in what I do. My students are to dress to express themselves in the accounting and finance profession.
