Dr. Nathaniel Howard is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Statistics. He was awarded PhD in Statistics in 2005 at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) after conducting his research on split-site mode at the University of Bonn in Germany and UCC in Ghana. He obtained a Graduate Diploma in Mathematical Statistics in 1995 at Christ College at the University of Cambridge in England on an Overseas Development Award. In 1992, he obtained a B.Sc. in Mathematics with First Class Honours and a Diploma in Education at UCC. He was appointed Assistant Lecturer in late 1996 at the then Department of Mathematics in UCC, and rose through the ranks to Senior Lecturer in 2010.

Dr Nathaniel Howard is a statistician with rich and vast experience in both teaching and research. He has supervised a good number of graduate theses and mentored many young Faculty. He has published several scientific research papers in Statistics and Applied Statistics in reviewed journals. He has also co-authored a number of books at the pre-university levels in both Mathematics and Statistics.

Dr. Nathaniel Howard has served in various different positions in UCC. Prominent among the positions include Head, Department of Mathematics and Statistics; Hall Master and Chairman of Management Board, Valco Trust Fund Graduate Hostel; Senior Hall Tutor, Valco Trust Fund Graduate Hostel and Chairman, Time-Table Committee. He has also been actively involved in extension services/outreach programs, including External Assessor in statistics related theses for some public and technical universities in Ghana.

In his free times, he enjoys watching sports including athletics, boxing, motor racing and football. He also enjoys listening to high-life and gospel music.
