About

Moses Segbenya had his postdoctoral training at the International Center for Development and Decent Work (ICDD), University of Kassel, Germany. He has a Ph.D. in Development Studies (Human Resource Development) and a Master's degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Cape Coast. His Bachelor's degree was in Management Studies also from the University of Cape Coast. Professionally, he holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), from the University of Education, Winneba; Higher National Diploma in Marketing from Koforidua Technical University. Moses undertakes research in human resource management in higher education, technology and human resource management, employability skills, distance education, and human resource development among others. Currently, Moses is a Senior lecturer at the Department of Business Programmes, College of Distance Education, University of Cape Coast where he facilitates courses in Human Resource Management such as Industrial Relations; Human Resource Development; Human Resource Management,  International Human Resource Management, Fundamentals of Business, Principles of Management, Health and Safety at Work and Collective Bargaining Agreement. 

 He also serves as the Coordinator of undergraduate research at the Department of Business Programmes, College of Distance Education, University of Cape Coast. Additionally, he serves as the  College of Distance Education’s representative on the Transport Committee of the University of Cape Coast. He also served as the former Coordinator of the Arts and Social Sciences programmes at the College of Distance Education, University of Cape Coast. 

In terms of publications, Moses Segbenya has about forty-eight (48) publications in refereed ISI/Scopus journals with reputable publishers such as Elsevier; Routledge Taylor and Francis; Springer Nature; Hindawi; Inderscience, and Emerald among others. Additionally, he serves as an astute international reviewer for ISI/Scopus international refereed journals such as International Review of Research in Open and Distributed Learning (IRRODL), Human Behaviour and Emerging Technologies, Cogent Social Sciences, Cogent Business & Management, Cogent Education, Cogent Economics & Finance, Plos one, Environmental Health Insights, and Higher Education, Skills and Work-Based Learning.

With regards to outreach programmes, Moses Segbenya has attended conferences in Ghana and other countries such as  Mexico, Germany, South Africa, and Kenya among others. He also mentors postgraduate and undergraduate students in Ghana. He has won several awards including a Ph.D. Scholarship and Travel Grant from the  International Center for Development and Decent Work; MBA Scholarship and Travel Grants from the University of Cape Coast,  Travel grant from the Institute of Development Research and Development Policy (IEE), Ruhr University Bochum (RUB), Germany,  three Inter-departmental Research Support Grant (RSG), from the  University of Cape Coast, two group’s Research Support Grant (RSG) from the  University of Cape Coast. 

With regards to software proficiency, Moses is very proficient at using analytical tools such as Smart-PLS, AMOS, SPSS, Microsoft Office Suite, and Nvivo among others.

Moses aims to be an internationally acclaimed expert in human resource development practice and research towards education delivery. He is open to both local and international collaborations.
