Joseph Udimal Kachim is a lecturer at the Department of History, University of Cape Coast. He holds a PhD in Africa Studies (History) from the University of the Free State, Bloemfontein, South Africa. He also holds Msc. and MA degrees from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim and the University of Cape Coast, Cape Coast respectively. He has won a number of international fellowships and awards. His academic interest revolves around colonial and post colonial history of northern Ghana. He is also interested in marginal groups and spaces. His PhD thesis was on Mobility and Belonging of a border population on the Ghana-Togo border. He teaches West Africa Under Colonial Rule and Research Methods in History at the Department of History.
