Japhet’s research focuses on Teacher Professional Development, Teachers’ Knowledge for Teaching Mathematics, Assessment in Mathematics Education, and Students' Defensive Behaviors. His current research explores strategies to enhance children's proficiency in fraction operations and approaches to managing students' defensive behaviors in mathematics classrooms. 

 Japhet has co-authored several instructional resources for the University of Cape Coast, College of Distance Education, contributing significantly to teacher development and mathematics education. Beyond his research and teaching, Japhet is skilled in curriculum development, instructional design, educational technology integration, and teacher training. He is passionate about fostering inclusive and student-centered learning environments that encourage mathematical thinking and problem-solving. As an expert in standard item writing and assessment, he plays a critical role in shaping effective evaluation strategies in mathematics education. His work continues to shape mathematics education by bridging research with practice, making him a valuable collaborator for institutions, researchers, and educators committed to improving mathematics teaching and learning.
