As a lecturer in the humanities, I am of the strong belief that my classroom is a space for each student to feel at ease and express himself or herself. Critical acumen is of essence amongst my students as literature encompasses varying thoughts, theories, concepts as well as phenomena. I usually employ the student-centered approach during lectures because of its importance in students' communication, independent thinking, as well as evoking students’ participation in lectures. Discipline is of the essence in my classroom but that does not include intimidation or threats. I assume each single lecture to be an insightful and exciting exchange of knowledge as such I love classrooms where fun is combined with the exchange of knowledge.
