Godwin Adzakpah is currently an Assistant Lecturer with the University of Cape Coast, College of Health and Allied Sciences, School of Allied Health Sciences, Department of Health Information Management, lecturing Healthcare Systems - Implementation and Integration, Disease Classification and Coding, Healthcare Billing-Coding and Reimbursement, Information Systems for Health Information Management, Electronic Health Record and Introduction to Public Health. He is also the Academic Advisor for level 100 HIM students and Practicum Coordinator for Department of Health Information Management.
He is a WHO trained expert in the application of WHO workload indicator staffing norm (WISN) for staff distribution based on available workload for the health sector. He has more than 10 years practical experience in Health Information Management.
His area of specialization include: organisation and management of patient data stored electronically, code health information for proper distribution and research, disease classification and billing, Health Care Information System implementation and data quality assessment. He has expertise in new technology assessment for healthcare applications and dealing with both the process and the tools required to record, store and analyse healthcare information to support decision and guidelines and evaluation of the effects of information technology on clinical processes, outcomes and resources. He has expertise in quantitative techniques for risk prediction models in the presence of missing values, modelling of infectious disease using deterministic model based on systems of differential equations. He has expertise in the use of statistical software packages such as STATA, SPSS and WHO Workload Indicator Staffing Norm (WISN) Tool.
