Dr. Evans Kwasi Arizi is a Fisheries Scientist and a Lecturer at the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences, University of Cape Coast (UCC), Ghana, West Africa. His area of specialization is in Fisheries Science, Fish Stock Assessment, Fish Population Dynamics, Fisheries Oceanography, Bio-ecological Modelling. He graduated at UCC in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences. He furthered his education at UCC and graduated in 2013 with a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Aquaculture. In 2019, he had his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biological and Environmental Sciences from the University of Rhode Island (URI), USA. He also has certificates in Fish Stock Assessment and Leadership for Fisheries Management from URI. Presently, he is a member of the Scientific and Technical Committee (STC) of the Fisheries Commission of Ghana. He is a supporting member of the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) whose core mandate is to provide scientific advice towards creation of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) in Ghana. His research interest lies in using biological characteristics of aquatic organisms to determine the viable management actions or measures for conserving and restoring aquatic ecosystems towards achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 14.
