About

Edward Wilson Ansah is a Senior Lecturer of Health Promotion, Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety. Dr. Ansah is one of the pioneers to graduate from the Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation (HPER), University of Cape Coast (UCC), with the Ph.D. in Health Promotion in 2017. He graduated with the Bachelor Education in HPER, and Master of Philosophy in the same Department in 2009 and 2013 respectively. In 2009/2010 academic year, Dr. Ansah was a Teaching Assistant in the Department of HPER, UCC assisting many of the lecturers in teaching undergraduate courses and in their research works. Dr. Ansah was promoted to Senior Lecturer in February 2021 after serving as a Lecturer in the Department, from May 2018 to January 2021. Currently, Dr. Ansah teaches and supervises both Ph.D. and Master level Courses and Theses. He teaches courses like Human Health and Development; Evidence-Based Health Promotion; Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety Risk Assessment; Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety Policy Analysis, among others. Dr. Ansah has researched and published over 30 articles both in local and international reputable journals. He is a reviewer to many internationally recognized journals. Dr. Ansah is currently the Head of Department at the Dept. of HPER, UCC, and serves as the External Examiner to the West African Examination Council (WAEC). Dr. Ansah is also the Head Coach of the UCC Netball Team and has won consecutively four (4) Gold Medals with the team, 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2020. Dr. has research interests in Climate Change and Health, Safety, Health and Productivity at Work, Psychosocial Safety Climate, Environmental Sanitation, Scoping Review, among others. I have written and published many peer review articles across these research areas.

I believe and aim to develop critical thinkers, and candidates who can think on their feet to solving societal problems today and in future.
