Professor Anokye Mohammed Adam is a distinguished and internationally acclaimed scholar of Finance who exhibits a high sense of industry, sterling leadership qualities and excellent organizational skills. He had worked at the University of Cape Coast for more than twelve years in several capacities. He is an experienced educator with over 22 years of experience across all levels of the Ghanaian educational system. He is a member of Chartered Management and Business Educator, UK. He is, results-oriented, hardworking, committed to duty, pragmatic and an excellent team player with strengths in exemplary leadership and change management. His strong background in finance, mathematics and education had deepened his business and entrepreneurial mentality and abilities. He is a visionary with very good strength in building industry-academia rapport and linkages.

He holds PhD(Applied Mathematics) from University of Venda, PhD (Business Administration) from Open University Malaysia, MSc (Finance) from the University of Leicester, MSc (Mathematics) from the University of Cape Coast and  BSc (Mathematics) from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He also holds a Professional Teachers' Certificate from the University of Cape Coast, Certificate in Project Management from University of Petroleum Studies, Professional Certificate in Online Teaching for Educators: Development and Delivery from the University of British Columbia and Diploma in Management of Higher Education Institute from Galilee International Management Institute. 

His extensive academic and managerial training in Ghana and abroad had enabled him to develop key competencies, capabilities and experiences to deal with trending issues in the higher education landscape. Prof. Adam has very high regard for research, scholarship, teaching, learning and outreach. His understanding of the modern complexities and diversities in the tertiary education environment is remarkable.

Professor Adam is currently the Provost of College of Distance Education.  Prior to working in his current position at CODE, he had also served as the Head of Programmes of Department of Business Programmes at CoDE, Head of the Department of Finance at the School of Business and the Head of Department of Business studies at CODE. In all positions, he provided leadership for the organisation and conducted of academic, financial and administrative business in the Departments to bring about change and harmony.

Professor Adam had attended several Training Workshops and Conferences as a Resource Person, Facilitator or Participant. These included Management of Higher Education Institute programme for Higher Education Professionals at Galilee International Management Institute; DAAD sponsored E-Learning Content Development Workshops at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, Germany; Served as a resource person in capacity enhancing Workshop organised by Centre for Continuing Education, the University of Cape Coast at Greenland Hotel, Agona Swedru, Ghana on Enhancing Distance Learning with E-Learning Platforms; International Labour, Organisation sponsored Workshop on Training for Trainers on sustainable supply chain management at GIMPA etc. He has over 100 publications to his credit and has written several distance learning modules. He has served as Panel Chair in several international conferences. He is an editor of the Journal of Business and Enterprise Development and serves as a reviewer for more than 50 peer-reviewed journals. He is an academic mentor and has mentored several young academics locally and internationally. 

Prof Adam had served as Chairman and member of various statutory Boards and Committees of the University. These included; Academic Board, Procurement Advisory Committee, Entity Tender Committee, Development Committee, 2016 Corporate Strategic Planning Committee, College of Distance Education Strategic Planning Committee, International Public Sector Accounting Standard Implementation Committee, School of Graduate Studies Board, Committee on Institutional Affiliation, School of Business Board, Faculty of Social Sciences Board, College of Humanities and Legal Studies Board, College of Distance Education Board, College of Distance Education’s Timetable Committee etc. He had been an external examiner for several institutions inside and outside Ghana.
